Heat Transfer Fluids
High-temperature PAG heat transfer fluids with low evaporation loss, excellent thermal stability, and wide operating range up to 260°C.
Performance Advantages
Why PAG for Heat Transfer Fluids
Exceptional thermal stability
PAGs resist thermal degradation and oxidation at sustained high temperatures (up to 260°C), maintaining fluid integrity and extending service life compared to mineral oil-based heat transfer fluids.
Low evaporation loss
PAGs have low vapour pressure at operating temperatures, reducing fluid top-up requirements, minimising workplace exposure, and lowering total cost of ownership.
Wide operating temperature range
PAGs operate effectively from −40°C to 260°C, eliminating the need for seasonal fluid changes and simplifying system design for applications with variable duty cycles.
Pumpability at low temperatures
High viscosity index means PAGs remain pumpable at startup temperatures where mineral oil-based fluids would require preheating, reducing system warm-up time and energy consumption.

Formulation Guidance
Compatible Additives
DODPA (Octylated Diphenylamine)
0.5–1.5% for high-temperature continuous operation; critical for preventing oxidative degradation
BHT (Butylated Hydroxytoluene)
0.5% as a secondary antioxidant for system startup/shutdown cycling
Technical Reference
Technical Notes
Operating temperature range: −40°C to 260°C bulk fluid temperature (up to 300°C film temperature for short periods). System design should include nitrogen blanketing for open expansion tanks to minimise oxidative degradation. PAG heat transfer fluids should be monitored for viscosity changes and acid number to determine fluid change intervals. Compatible with standard heat transfer system materials (carbon steel, stainless steel). Relevant standards: DIN 51522 (Heat transfer fluids), ISO 6743-12 (Heat transfer fluid classification), ASTM D5372 (Heat transfer fluid testing).
